Matt DeHerrera-Lopez is a Colorado native, who has a Master’s Degree in Human Services and has 20 years of experience working in the Child Welfare System. His experience ranges from working in the Residential Treatment Level of Care, Probation, and other non-profit and government sectors. Prior to working as a Learning & Development Specialist with State of Colorado’s Division of Child Welfare (DCW), Matt served older youth as a Permanency Caseworker in the Denver Metro Area and most recently served as a Permanency Specialist with DCW.
Matt is committed to ensure that all children, youth and families are served and treated as they should be; with fairness, respect, and dignity. Taking the “partnership” approach to learning and development, Matt focuses on meeting partners where they are at, ensuring that they walk away from any and all learning opportunities with a clear understanding.
Matt enjoys sports, cooking, traveling and spending time with his friends and family.
