Coaching is a process by which the coach and coachee(s) cocreate an environment where individuals and teams generate self-awareness, a keen agility with relationships, and courageous action in order to activate the organization’s richest resources and realize the desired outcomes. By partnering with a coach, child welfare staff from all levels will be held compassionately accountable for being their best selves so that they will feel compelled to do the same with the families they serve.

We (the CWTS) believe you:

  • Are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole
  • Have everything within you to name and achieve your goals
  • Innately desire to be the best version of yourself for you and the people you serve
  • Are your values, experiences, history, and culture
  • Have a unique way of responding to change and a unique perspective that deserves to be honored
  • Are responsible for your successes, failures, and choices

We believe coaching creates the space for:

  • Appreciating and calling forth your unique potential
  • Discovering your values
  • Exploring and experiencing different perspectives
  • Embracing conflict as a signal that something in you or around you is trying to change
  • Promoting vulnerability and curiosity
  • Deepening learning and forwarding action, grounded in commitment
  • Guiding you towards making powerful choices
  • Holding you to account for what you want
