"We have one life. Just one. Why aren’t we running like we are on fire towards our wildest dreams?"
Senior Delivery Manager
Kelly Parsons, MA, BS, serves as the training manager for the CWTS. In this role, she manages all aspects of training delivery, including pre-service and in-service training for Colorado’s child welfare workforce.
Kelly began her career in child welfare in Adams County in 2007, working on the sexual abuse Intake team before joining the Family Assessment and Stabilization Team to work intensively with families on a non-court-involved basis. In 2010, she became a supervisor of an Intake team of caseworkers assessing child abuse and neglect referrals. Kelly was a member of the Adams County Differential Response (DR) Implementation Team, helping to implement different aspects of the DR model within the county. Through this experience, Kelly helped to develop, design, and deliver trainings and learned that one of her favorite parts of working in child welfare is helping to support and develop the workforce to more effectively serve children and families. Kelly is a Colorado native and grew up in Longmont, prior to attending college at the University of Oregon, where she earned a bachelor’s in psychology and anthropology in 2004. She returned to her home state to attend graduate school and received her master’s in forensic psychology from the University of Denver in 2006. Kelly is also a professionally trained Co-Active Coach.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is an avid fan of both college (Oregon Ducks) and professional (Denver Broncos) football. She spends her weekends riding her Thoroughbred horse, Cruz, playing with her dogs, Kwame and Vida, and generally enjoying all the wonderful things that make Colorado such a special place to live.
