Kentucky Alternative Response Project
Please access An Introduction to Alternative Response below. This web-based training will take less than one hour to complete and provide you with an overview of the Alternative Response model in Kentucky.
Course Description:
The Kentucky Alternative Response Model represents an organizational shift that impacts all parts of the organization, including essential infrastructure changes and a deepened and enhanced set of social work practices. In this web-based training, you will gain an introductory understanding of the Alternative Response Model and explore the differences between the system’s two primary responses to accepted reports of maltreatment: investigations and alternative response. This course will build your knowledge of each step of the Alternative Response process that caseworkers will utilize and inform you about SOP. You will have opportunities to explore what the implementation of Alternative Response in your region means for you, your community, and most important, the children, youth, and families you serve.
Following this course, you will be prepared to participate in the Practice Foundations of Alternative Response course to learn about the practices that can be applied within Alternative Response.
Note: You will need to complete this web-based training in one sitting as it will not track your progress. At the completion of the training, you will be asked to complete a survey to collect your information so a training completion certificate can be awarded.
