Seeking Stories
CWTS believes families and youth must be seated at every table and involved in significant decision-making in all areas of child welfare. Agency policies, procedures, and practices are improved for the families we serve when those with extraordinary experiences are invited to offer their expertise in the development and delivery of training, family engagement initiatives, and other critical interventions. And so CWTS is looking to integrate family and youth voices at various levels throughout our organization and products.
The Lived Experience: Navigating Story and Systems resource group (LENSS) was established to foster and support community voices in leading the cultural shifts needed within the child welfare system. If you or someone you know has experiences or a history that can benefit others or the child welfare system as a whole, we would love for you to share your story. Your story can be shared through print, video, within a training, or in many other ways. Please reach out to Michelle Mares (michelle.mares@cuanschutz.edu) or Paula Haugerud (paula.haugerud@cuanschutz.edu) to learn more about this opportunity to make a meaningful impact on others through your experiences.
